About FindGrants
Every listing checked against its source; verified date on every row. FindGrants is an independent directory operated by ResilientMind AI. It is not affiliated with any government agency. It does not claim to list every grant; it lists what it has checked. Applying for a grant is always free. Never pay anyone to apply.
What this is
A fast, public search over education funding that school districts, schools, teachers and education nonprofits can apply for: federal opportunities, Pennsylvania state programs, and private foundation funding. Pennsylvania is the proof market; federal listings are national.
Sources
- Grants.gov (federal): the official daily XML extract published by Grants.gov. We keep Department of Education opportunities and education-related opportunities from other agencies, including forecasted competitions, which are labelled as such.
- Pennsylvania Department of Education: the competitive grant pages on pa.gov, read daily; a program is listed only when the page states a future due date or that applications are open.
- Reviewed programs registry: recurring programs that never appear on Grants.gov, including Pennsylvania agencies outside the Department of Education, intermediate-unit and local education foundations, Pennsylvania community foundations and national classroom-grant programs. Each entry names the page its deadline was read from and quotes that deadline verbatim; the quote is re-checked against the page every week and the date shown as "Verified" is the last day it matched. When a program is between cycles we show the cycle, never an old date.
- pa.gov program pages: the Commonwealth's public "apply for a grant" pages for the other state agencies (Agriculture, Environmental Protection, Crime and Delinquency, Fish and Boat, Labor and Industry, Transportation and more), found through the public sitemap and read the same way as the Department of Education pages. Where the registry already holds a verified entry for the same page, the registry record is shown.
- Private foundations: IRS Form 990-PF data to identify foundations that fund education in Pennsylvania, presented as a funder directory (later).
Update schedule
The pipeline checks every source daily at 05:17 Eastern and publishes the site every other day. The header shows when the published data was generated; if it is older than 3 days a notice appears. Currently 89 listings, generated Nov 1, 2026, 5:21 AM ET.
Methodology
- Fetch each source and keep the raw response for 14 days.
- Normalize dates (Eastern time), dollar amounts and tags.
- Dedupe by stable id, then by fuzzy title and funder match across sources, keeping the richest record.
- Classify education relevance, eligible applicants, education levels and topics with rules and keywords. No listing is invented; summaries only condense the funder's own text.
- Expire: anything whose deadline has passed is removed, not badged.
- Validate every record. A record without an official funder URL is never published.
- Guard: a run that produces zero listings, drops more than 30% from the last good run, or fails to build is not deployed; the last good site stays live.
FindGrantsBot
The checks above are made by a small crawler that identifies itself honestly as FindGrantsBot/1.0 (+https://findgrants.us/about) and sends a contact address in its From header. It reads only public pages, obeys robots.txt, makes at most one request every three seconds to any site, and re-reads a program page about once a week. It never pretends to be a browser: if a site blocks automated visitors, the listing is marked for manual checking and its "Verified" date is the last time a person looked at the page. To keep the bot off your site, disallow FindGrantsBot in robots.txt or email the address on the privacy page; the listing then moves to manual checking.
What makes FindGrants different
- A week-by-week deadline calendar on the home page, and a verified date on every row.
- Who applies and who benefits as separate facts and filters, so a teacher can find the money a teacher can actually apply for.
- Calendar and RSS you can subscribe to without an account: feeds and calendar.
- Small-district signals the big sites bury: "No match required" and the expected number of awards.
- Every grant page prints as a one-page brief for a board packet.
- Optional, paid writing help, clearly separated from the free directory.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no cookies beyond what static hosting needs, no third-party trackers. The only forms are the newsletter sign-up (email only) and the writing-help request, both covered by the privacy page.
- The site never generates applications. Writing help is done by a person, and you submit the application yourself.
- The directory never collects personal information from visitors.
