Deadline as stated by the funder: "Submission Deadline: December 18, 2026" Annual portfolio of cash awards and conference stipends for K-12 science teachers, including the $10,000 Shell Science Teaching Award, the Shell Urban Science Educators Development Award, the Sylvia Shugrue Award for elementary teachers, the Robert E. Yager Exemplary Teaching Award and the Maitland P. Simmons award for new teachers. These are recognition awards (cash plus conference travel), not project grants. Membership: only the Maitland P.
Simmons Memorial Award states "be an NSTA member in good standing"; the other listed awards do not state a membership requirement. The Shell awards repeat the line "Deadline to complete your Shell Teaching Awards application: December 18, 2026". Page says "more than $72,000 in cash and prizes is available yearly."
